Dusk settles over a stone courtyard, woodsmoke curling low as a decanter of cognac catches the last amber light. This is the hour DEFENDER answers to, an interpretation of Boadicea the Victorious's fragrance, poured for warmth that never quite gives way to shadow.

It opens on a burst of red fruits macerated in cognac, sweetened with honey and given bite by licorice, ginger, and a twist of grapefruit, brisk, boozy, alive. The heart settles into resinous myrrh and sun-warmed hay, with orange blossom and night-blooming jasmine keeping the floral thread from turning sweet. Underneath, tonka bean, labdanum, and Peru balsam thicken into red amber, musk, leather, and benzoin, a base built to sit on skin for the long haul.

Unisex and unbothered by convention, DEFENDER suits anyone drawn to oriental-floral depth with a leather spine. Reach for it through fall and winter, casual daylight into late-night hours, whenever the moment calls for warmth with an edge.
